What to Expect

Everyone is welcome at Christ Community. We hope that you’ll find a relational atmosphere where you can be yourself, engage in worship, and connect with God. The heartbeat of the gospel is that Christ meets us right where we are, but loves us too much to leave us there. Whether you grew up in church, haven’t been to church in a while, or never have been in church in your life—no matter where you are in life—we believe that God has a plan for you, and that He has a place and purpose for you here at Christ Community.

Questions & Answers

Here are some answers to common questions.

When you worship with us, we will not ask you to stand, come down to the front or say anything; we will ask you to wave your hand during service so that we may acknowledge you. We also will ask you to complete a Connection Card at your option, so that we may connect with you during the week. Then, at the end of the Worship Service, you are invited to visit our Hospitality Suite, located in the Main Foyer. Feel free to bring your Connection Card with you. We will be waiting to greet you, pray for you and answer any questions you may have. We also have a small gift and a cup of coffee for you to enjoy.

We have a praise band and praise team who lead us in worship each Sunday.

We offer Biblical teaching that deals with real everyday life. The message will be based on the Bible, and Pastor Autry will often include interesting quotes from contemporary people, the latest news stories, or movies. Our services last about 1 hour and 20 minutes… After Pastor Terrence Autry completes his message, he invites people to become followers of Jesus Christ. If you have time, Pastor Autry would love to meet you after service.

Our dress is casual and comfortable. Please don’t buy anything special to worship with us. Whether you prefer formal, business, or casual attire, chances are there will be others dressed much like you, no matter when you visit. We want you to feel welcome and accepted for who you are!

At Christ Community, children are a top priority. Our mission is to provide a safe, exciting environment for children to grow, make friends and learn consistent, Biblical values—the same values parents will hear in our worship services and see lived out by our leadership. Your children will have a great time making friends and learning about Jesus Christ.

Infants (Birth – 17 months)

Infants, birth-17 months, attend services with their parents. However, we understand that they may get a little restless, so we have a wonderful room for them, located in the Main Foyer, near the Welcome Desk. The room is equipped with toys, comfortable seating for parents, and a monitor that will allow you to see and hear the entire worship service.

Kingdom Kids Children’s Ministry  (18 months – 6th Grade)

Young hearts and minds receive a spiritual foundation of Biblical truths with our dedicated teaching team through Bible lessons, music, crafts and playtime based on their age group.  We love to partner with parents and family members in leading a child to a personal and maturing relationship with Jesus Christ. If you should have questions regarding the Children’s Ministry, please email children@ccrichardson.org.

Our Junior High and High School ministry, grades 7th – 12th, engage students by exploring the truth about God through His Word, teaching them how to express their faith, and creating an environment where they can experience God and be embraced by community. Teens are invited to Youth Church on 1st, 3rd, and 4th Sundays. They are released during service, immediately following the Praise and Worship period. Youth Church meets in our Lecture Hall. If needed, a greeter or youth worker will gladly escort your student to Youth Church from the Main Foyer. If you would like further information, feel free to contact our Youth Department at youth@ccrichardson.org.
