Romans 12:2 (NLT) "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."
The mission of Transformations: Women Discipling Women is to cause women to go deeper in our relationship with Christ, to experience radical heart transformation and wholehearted surrender to Him.
Transformations is a small group ministry in which groups of women, of all ages, study and discuss curriculum which hopefully will facilitate the transformation of participants to be more Christ-like. We have 10 small groups which meet twice a month to study the curriculum, and generally meet every other month for fellowship.
Testimonies
Transformations is different than other bible studies that you may have done because it's centered around women discipling other women. It's about learning from different women's experiences and their connections with God and using those to be able to create yours as well as sharing your own experiences.
At the time of my life when Transformations was recruiting for leaders for the groups, I was at a time of my life where I was really trying to improve my relationship with God and be more consistent. And I was looking for an opportunity to lead other women, or at least be a part and get to know other women within the church. So I went ahead and joined the group, through prayer. It's been a really, really great opportunity, and I advise anybody to give it a chance.
I love the relationships that I've developed through the Transformations group. It feels like it's almost like a sisterhood. We still have a group text message that I don't care whatever good, bad, in between. We reach out. We we ask for prayer for one another, and we still talk to this day even though we're on a on a break. So I recommend you ladies give it a try.
Transformations is women discipling women. What I found was that I was poured into by the ladies in my group just as much as I poured into them. It was from everyone's life experiences, we learned something, and the word of God applies to each one of us in our way. It was a wonderful experience.
I am forging connections that I never expected to forge because even though I appear to be outgoing, I am kind of an extroverted introvert. And I respond to love and kindness, and that is just what I've had. The experience has just been phenomenal, and I am growing more than I ever ever expected to grow. I mean, I didn't even expect to be in a group. I told the Lord I wasn't ready to make that kind of commitment and go back on it. I didn't wanna do that, but I'm so thankful He knows me better than I know myself.
I got to meet a great group of ladies, make some new friends, but mostly, it helped me in my spiritual walk in a lot of different ways. It just helped me with patience and humility, and it it helped me to see a different perspective. I think more and more of a Christ centered perspective of my life. You know? It did help me with being selfish as well. But I definitely would recommend it because you get to meet other ladies in different areas of their lives, different times of their lives.
In my group, we had a great time. We met right after service, and we had a great time in fellowship. We had a meal together. Now it wasn't the last supper, but it was definitely a great time just sharing our thoughts.
I formed another sisterhood, a group of sisterhood. The leadership team of Transformations is awesome. So if you are thinking about being a leader, you will have the support of the leadership team and they will encourage you, answering any questions that you have.
