A native New Yorker, Lisa Miller Autry gave her life to Jesus Christ in October 1988, accepted her call to ministry in October 1998, and was ordained as a minister in January 2004. Lisa serves in a wide range of leadership functions and mentoring roles at Christ Community, where her husband, Dr. Terrence Autry, is the Lead Pastor. Lisa preaches and teaches in churches and conferences nationally and abroad. In December 2019, Lisa led a team of 20 women from Christ Community in co-hosting a Women’s Empowerment Conference with Full Gospel Church International – Koforidua (“FGCI”) and WorldVenture in Ghana, West Africa. She continues to partner with the spiritual leaders of FGCI and with WorldVenture in collaborative ministry to women in Ghana.
Lisa’s ministry also incorporates an extensive business background. She retired from a highly-successful 32-year banking career in 2019. Prior to her retirement, Lisa served as Senior Vice President and Dallas Market Manager for a $40 billion banking organization, leading teams of commercial bankers in providing financial services to businesses and non-profits in the Dallas Metroplex. Lisa now serves as a consultant to churches, other non-profit organizations, and entrepreneurs through her firm, Acceleration Advisors, LLC (www.accelerationadvisors.com).
In July 2020, Lisa released her first book, Holy Borrowers: Equipping Church Leaders for Building Finance, available on www.holyborrowers.com, Amazon, and other retail channels. Holy Borrowers has opened the door for church leaders and others to become better equipped in financing a congregation’s largest asset: their church building. Lisa also was featured in Precious Times magazine as one of its “50 Faithful,” and was a contributing devotional writer to Aspire: The New Women of Color Study Bible published by Zondervan.
Lisa’s educational background includes a Master’s degree in Cross-Cultural Ministries from Dallas Theological Seminary, an M.B.A. degree in Finance & Marketing from The Anderson School of Management at UCLA, and a B.A. degree in Economics from Brown University. She has served on numerous boards, including the “Circle of Friends” Board for New Friends New Life, Dallas Leadership Foundation and the Executive Committee of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce. She currently is the Chairwoman of Let’s Elevate, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation that seeks to empower underserved youth.
Lisa’s heartfelt passion and commitment lie in helping individuals, companies, and communities “get where they’re going” for the Glory of God. She desires that every person know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, that they might fully experience His love, purpose, and power in their lives. She and Pastor Autry have been married for over 30 years and are the proud parents of two young adult sons, Terrence, II (Howard University, 2015) and Daniel (University of VA, 2018).
