Our Story

God’s vision for us was conceived in the heart and mind of our Lead Pastor, Dr. Terrence Autry, in April of 1998. Dr. Autry believed that the time was right to begin a new contemporary, difference-making, ministry in a down-to-earth atmosphere. While searching for a building to house the ministry, we began with three adult members and initially met for prayer, Bible Study, vision casting and planning in the home of Pastor and Lisa Autry. In October of 1998, we reached an agreement with Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church to lease its former church facility at 14000 Preston Rd. in North Dallas.

Our first public worship service was held on Sunday, January 17, 1999. Six individuals joined during that first service and we have grown together in Christ, community, and numerically since that day. On April 6, 2003, the Lord moved our worship services to E.D. Walker Elementary School for 22 months. In June of 2005, the Lord blessed us to purchase our current 15,000+  square foot facility where services continue to take place.

In early 2014, Pastor Autry publicly cast the vision for renovating our facility to better reflect our 21st century ministry. Our 18-month “Restoration” Campaign was launched in January 2015, with new pledges being received each month as people embraced the vision. Phase 1 Renovations were completed in our sanctuary in May 2015, and the difference is remarkable! Phase 2 renovations will be initiated in the remainder of the building at the right time. We invite you to view our video on our Media page to see the restoration of our sanctuary for yourselves. Of course, the most important renovation is not taking place in our church building, but in God’s people at Christ Community.

The Lord continues to demonstrate His faithfulness in more ways than can be numbered. To God be the Glory for doing exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or think.
